Hey Morgan, have you checked their manual? I think there are some DIP switches that you might need to set, including whether RS232 mode is used or something else. See their manual download page for tle L70 series: http://www.ictgroup.com.tw/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=175&catid=49&Itemid=60

Hi Gergely,

I am using a ICT bill acceptor L70-P5 connecting via RS232-to-USB to a raspberry pi 2.

I cant seem to read anything from /dev/ttyUSB0. And when I ran your python script vending.py, it just kept looping in the first loop even when i power on and off the bill acceptor a few times.

Any idea what could be wrong?

Thanks in advance,
Morgan

Yeah, the problems are still there. I got the printer's manual from the company - it's in Chinese so trying to translate it and share it. Looks like there are a couple of different ways to print images and not completely standard ESC/POS... It's pretty mystifying but I want to use the printer so got to figure out.

You have one of these thermal printers as well? :)
